Being in poverty is a full-time job. Bidwell Riverside Center is always striving to assist families to relieve the strain and allow them more time to do other important things.  Our goal is to help in a way that will allow them to break the cycle of poverty.

Food & Clothing Pantry

We are a member of the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) Food Pantry Network and a proud partner of Food Bank of Iowa.

Services include: food, clothing household items, toiletries/personals, feminine hygiene products, diapers, baby food, baby wipes, incontinence products. 

If you are unable to provide an ID, a limited amount of food is available every 7 days.

Child Development Center

Bidwell Riverside provides a comprehensive education and care program for children 24 months - 5 years.  The center is open every weekday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The center utilizes Creative Curriculum and has received a 4-star designation through the Quality Ratings System of Iowa.  For more information, please call 515-244-2268 or visit the Child Development Center web page.

Essential Household Items Program

Utilizing the Good360 Program, Bidwell is able to provide bedding (sheets and blankets) as well as household items for families in need.  This program is by appointment only and financial information is required to qualify.  Please call Missy Reams at 515-244-6251 option 5 to schedule an an appointment, or the food pantry at 515-244-6251 option 7.
