Holiday Food Drive

Help provide holiday meals to famillies in need here in our community! Last year we provided holiday meals to more than 1,100 families. Food can be delivered between November 24th and December 21st.

Most needed items are:

Canned corn, green beans, beets, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce
Pie filling: pumpkin and cherry
Gravy mix: canned or packaged
Stovetop Stuffing
Boxed Potatoes: Flakes or Au Gratin Potato
Evaporated Milk
French fried onions
Creamed Soup: mushroom, celery or chicken

Other Ideas:

Purchase and donate a pre-made or boxed holiday meal, such as: turkey loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, mini pumpkin pie, and a bag of rolls.

If you prefer to donate money, we will use that to purchase these items as they are available at a low cost from the Food Bank. Donate online here, and designate Holiday Food Contributions, or mail made out to Bidwell Riverside Center at 1203 Hartford Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50315 before December 20th.
