Thank you for your interest in sponsoring a family. We hope that, by helping others, your own holidays will be enriched.
Why Are Family Sponsors Important?
The Christmas Sharing Program at Bidwell Riverside serves hundreds of families, and each year more and more people need our help. Families who are not sponsored attend Christmas Sharing Day, where they pick out new clothing and toys from items donated, and receive food. Family Sponsors on the other hand, not only provide material gifts but also the precious gift of personal involvement and caring. Family Sponsorship is a very important part of our Christmas Sharing Program. The more Sponsors we have helping with our client families’ Christmas needs, the better we can serve all who seek our assistance.
Are There Other Ways to Help?
We so appreciate your interest in sponsoring a family for Christmas. If you decide that being a Family Sponsor is not possible this year, perhaps you can plan for that future goal; but there are still ways for you to be involved now.
You can provide cash donations for food baskets or gifts, purchase toys, caps, mittens, socks, and underwear, or make donations of hand-knit hats and mittens. Some people organize a toy drive at their church or place of business and donate the toys to Bidwell. Others volunteer to be part of the large labor force needed for Christmas Sharing day. If you are interested in any of these options, call Bidwell Riverside, 244-6251.
If you do choose Sponsorship, please contact our Family Sponsor Coordinator at 515-285-8943 or email GSWARTZ_B@MSN.COM.
